Game Design Praxiology Seminar 2026 – Researching Together

The seminar is designed as a forum for deep engagement and further discussions. Unlike conventional conferences, where interaction is often brief, this format enables focused exchange and fosters future collaboration in the area of game design praxiology.

Participants are encouraged to use the seminar as a writing retreat—to revise manuscripts, develop new submissions, and initiate collaborations. The setting supports direct interaction with peers and domain experts, providing opportunities for immediate feedback and refinement of ongoing work.

The program includes a facilitated paper jam, a playful and structured session dedicated to co-authorship and joint idea development. Outcomes from the paper jam will be presented on Friday as part of the Jam Jam Festival 2026 program, which is held immediately after the seminar. Joint program with Jam Jam Festival offers opportunities for dialogue with developers, observational engagement, and empirical material collection. These contributions are also welcomed to submit their work to the ACM Games Special Issue.

Participants of the Game Design Praxiology Seminar are encouraged to extend their stay at the Jam Jam Festival (tickets to Jam Jam are sold separately).
